I'm frustrated that the corp tax has not been fixed till now. Its of fundamental importance to corporations and although its supposed to get an overhaul in Sheeva, that is WAY to long (on top of the month since the game started) to fix or at least quick fix this function.
Thus below, I'll written some BASIC/FORTRAN bastard code to quickfix the next patch. Its very simple and sheeva will clearly making it far more specific but it much better then the current situation.

integer MEMBERS, i real member_earnings(MEMBERS) real corp_wallet, tax
! member_earnings is the income member made in the last 24 hours. Its the net increase in their wallet in that period. This would be done during downtime.
! tax is the corp tax set by directors between 0 and 1.

Thats it. That would be enough to make me happy as our corp would work with the codes limitations. Obviously a little more effort could be put in to make click boxes for the directors on what type of earnings to tax but you get the basic idea of how easy it is to implement.

OH..and the main thing is that if you set TAX = 0, then its just like EVE is now. So no harm for people that do not want to use a tax.

Edited by: Primer Xenius on 23/04/2004 09:18:47 A % tax like above is a QUICKFIX till Sheeva since CCP has a more comprehensive system in plan. People can set it to 0% if it does not suit them because the corp tax ingame does not work anyhow right now.
I know it has holes in it and most likely those holes and potential screwup by corp in using it and the resulting angry will never get the corp tax working before Sheeva. Perhaps a tax on bounties and some other simple cash exchanges. I know that you can view ISK movements in terms of many categories (like Player Donations, Bounties, etc..). Perhaps a simple tick box for a CEO to select a few for the tax just to get some functionality out of it.
Our corp would use it. Right now there is no way of collecting player income systematically.

That may be true indeed. However, from the discussions we have been having internally, this function would really solve some time consuming issues. Its not a matter of forcing more people to pay up, its just finding a systematic way of doing it ingame. We current have a system which involved out of game forums but its a lot of work which could be eliminated if that tax option actually did something.
Again, the main issue is that it could be turned off. It does nothing right now, so CCP could set all taxes to 0% in the patch and a small patch note that corp have the option of using it.
Its a quickfix idea nevertheless since althought I'm looking forward to Sheeva, I'm not gonna hold my breath for it.

hehe....silly me 
I remember in beta getting a Dev correct me that it was not CCCP but CCP lol And I thought this was some soviet space sim blah!
